The new Heart of Christ Clinic, located in the former convent of the Basilica of Ste. Anne near the Ambassador Bridge, will serve women and their families by caring for the whole person, said Msgr. Charles Kosanke, the basilica’s rector.
“The purpose of the Heart of Christ Clinic is to put the pro-life teachings of the Catholic Church into action,” Msgr. Kosanke said.
The former convent has been restored and converted and will include nine examination rooms, a kitchen, lounge area, lab and ultrasound machine, which will be provided by the Knights of Columbus. Msgr. Kosanke said support is still needed to make the clinic a long-term reality, urging families with means to contribute to the pro-life clinic’s success.
“We would like this to be a permanent partnership for the Knights of Columbus in the state of Michigan and a partnership that will continue to grow and show our ultimate support of the pro-life movement,” said Christopher Kolomjec, state deputy for the Michigan Knights of Columbus.

A Beautiful Icon finds a Home
By: Greg Brunson -
Thu, Apr 27, 2023 7:39 PM
The last remaining Icon Our Lady Help of Persecuted Christians has found a home at St Mary Catholic Church in Chelsea.
Fr William Turner, former Knights of Columbus State Chaplain was elated to receive the Icon. For years the Icon was without a home then my wife Suzanne came to the rescue and suggested Fr Bill. Knowing that Fr Bill is PSD Ken Unterbrink’s pastor I called Ken and asked him if he thought Fr Bill would be interested – he replied ‘oooooooh yeah’. The rest is history!
