Past Grand Knight of Knights of Columbus Leo XIII Council #3042 Ron Tomala served as the Grand Marshal of the Eastpointe Memorial Day Parade this past Memorial Day, Monday May 29th.
Ron is a Vietnam veteran Many of the Knights and their families from Council #3042 marched and participated in the parade.
The 2023 Michigan State Special Olympics Summer Games are underway at Central Michigan University in
Mt. Pleasant.
The opening ceremony was on Thursday June 1,2023 and games continue throughout Friday June 2.
The Knights of Columbus took part in the opening ceremony and welcomed the athletes.

Hundreds gather for the traditional Living Rosary on the lawn at the Grand Hotel, always a highlight of the convention.
The Honor Guard of the Fourth-Degree position themselves in a formation representing a Rosary. As a Decade is led a balloon is situated after each Hail Mary to form Rosary beads to be released at the conclusion of the prayer.
The Family of the Year joins our State Deputy and his family in leading the first decade.
The winners of the Service Program Awards and their families join each State Officer and his family in the subsequent decades.
As the final prayer is completed the Honor Guard releases the Rosary into the breeze sending our prayers off to Heaven.
Escanaba Council #640 hosted an Exemplification at Holy Family Parish after Sunday morning Mass on May 21, 2023 followed by a lunch served in the church hall.
New members are Mike Reford, Ryan Hansen, Andy Flagstadt, and Chris Cooper.

Faith in Action Service Program Awards were presented to the respective councils during the Program Award Session Thursday morning during this year’s convention.
The State Deputy’s Banquet attendance this year was one of the largest ever.
With a 100-foot dais for all the dignitaries and a full house made for a very special evening.
Addresses from the dais included Judge of the Michigan Court of appeals the Honorable Michael Riordan, Supreme Council Senior Vice President Mark McMullen and a very emotional thank you from our State Deputy Chris Kolomjec centered on Faith and Family First.

To conclude the Awards Program of this year’s convention, the State Deputy,
Chris Kolomjec introduced the Shuster family from Assumption Grotto Council #13419 in Detroit as the Family of the Year for Michigan.
