International Free Throw Winner

Michigan had two International Free Throw Championship Winners. 

Jackson Hill from Wm. Fraser Council #1224 in Cadillac was introduced at the Program Awards Session Thursday of the Convention. He is one of the two of the International Free Throw Championship winners from Michigan. 

The other International Winner is Bryon Harper from St. John Neuman #16169 in Canton who was unable to make the convention.

Both had perfect scores.

Convention Mass Celebrants

Convention Opening Mass

The opening Mass of the 123rd Michigan Knights of Columbus State Convention began with a procession led by the Fourth Degree Honor Guard.

With many clergy including the State Officers and their wives, Supreme Senior Vice President Mark McMullen along his wife, Council Chaplains, Diocesan Chaplains, Bishops all were participating in the procession.

The Mass was celebrated by Archbishop Allen Vigneron.

Convention Eucharistic Procession

As a prelude to the opening of the 2023 Michigan State Convention an Eucharistic Procession was held on Wednesday.

Led by the Honor Guard of the Fouth Degree, it began at St. Annes Church an concluded at the steps of the Grand Hotel.

Many faithful joined in the procession and many others watched as it passed by. 

The prcession concluded with closing of Benediction from the porch at the Grand Hotel.

Council of the Month 3830

Council 10724 Exemplification 5-18-23

Au Lac Council #10724 in Anchorville, Ira Township, hosted a Charity, Unity and Fraternity Exemplification on Thursday May 18.

Two new members joined the Au Lac Council and one new member joined Msgr. Kromenaker Council #2251 in St. Clair.

State Convention Raffle 23 Info

Volunteers: For all ladies coming to the convention on Mackinac Island, there is a great opportunity to support our K of C charitable goals, meet other like-minded women, and have some fun! We are asking for volunteers to help with the charity raffle which is held during the convention. Primarily we need people to help sell raffle tickets in 2-hour shifts, but there are several other opportunities as well. Working Toward New Council Exemplification

The process of forming a new council continues at St. Thomas Syro-Malabar. Saturday May 13th, a travel team for the Exemplification of Charity, Unity and Fraternity, led by Pat Girard with Travis Baker and Tim Casey, assisted by Jim Escott SMD and Richard Shelt SDRR was held at the church in Southfield.

The new members of the Order are;

St George Council #16311 in Shelby Twp: Steve Jijika.

St Juan Diego Council #13930 in Pontiac: Miguel Leyve, DelmerTorres-Contreras, Miguel Leyve-Ugarte.

Seven people from St. Thomas Syro-Malabar: Thomas Varchese ,Tony Kokkatt, George Binu, Joji Moozhayil, Joseph William, Chris Moozhayil, George Kannanthanam.
