Halloween at Sacred Heart Major Seminary

Every Halloween, Sacred Heart Seminary opens its doors and hearts to its neighbors, inviting them in for a night filled with fun, games, and trick-or-treating.

This event also helps to Unleash the Gospel within the Heart of the City as it attracts over 2000 people each year! The seminarians are hoping for your continued prayers to make this event a huge success as it has a significant impact on the community.

In addition to prayers, they kindly ask for your support in the form of Halloween candy donations. By contributing to this cause, you will help bring joy to the hearts of many children and families in the neighborhood.

All candy donations should be dropped off at the seminary during the week of October 23rd, with the deadline being Friday the 28th. This will allow enough time to unpack and prepare the candy for distribution.

Let's come together and make this Halloween a memorable one for everyone involved. Your generosity and support will truly make a difference. Thank you in advance for your contributions!

Council 3257 and Knights on Bikes serve local firefighters dinner in honor of 9/11

By: Ken Warzybok - Mon, Sep 11, 2023 6:48 AM

To commemorate 9/11, the Sir Knights of the 4th Degree and members of Bishop Murphy Council 3257 (Warren) came together on September 10th under the leadership of GK Dennis Thomas, DD117 Matt Elias, and host DD127 Mark Elias. Alongside the AoD Knights on Bikes, they organized a remarkable chicken dinner for the local heroes at community firehouses.

This event was a heartfelt gesture to express gratitude to the brave firefighters serving at Engine 56 Detroit Fire, Hazel Park Fire, Ferndale Fire, and Warren Firehouses 1 and 3. These courageous individuals put their lives on the line every day to keep their communities safe, and it was a privilege to show them much deserved appreciation.

It was a reminder of the strength and unity that can be found within our communities, and the importance of expressing gratitude to those who protect and serve us every day.collage

A shotgun blast echoed in the morning air and volleys of golf balls arched through the air. This was the beginning of Sacred Heart Council #8659’s annual golf outing at the Fountains Golf and Banquet Center in Clarkston, MI.

Everyone enjoyed the golf, fraternity and even a little bit of inter-council rivalry. There were raffle items as well as prizes for longest drive and closest to the pin. All the proceeds went to fund this next year’s fraternal giving.
