Saturday December 2nd was a night to remember amid several achievements for Deacon Jerry Mix Council #2508!
It began with Mass, celebrated by Bishop Lohse of the Kalamazoo Diocese, followed by a formal dinner for the Knights, their wives, and guests.
During the event, SDRR Jim Highfield had the honor of presenting the prestigious Star District Award to DD403 Bob Matkin, recognizing his outstanding achievements during his first year as DD. Additionally, GK Scott Hopkins was presented with a plaque for his council being chosen as the Kalamazoo Diocesan Council of the Month for November.
GK Scott Hopkins himself took the opportunity to acknowledge and honor the three longest-serving members of the council: Donald Unterkircher (since 1954), Lunger (since 1957), and Ronald Rambadt (since 1966). Dick Yesh was recognized as the Knight of the Year, while Danny Gomez received a certificate for his dedicated service to the Knights and the parish.
State Secretary Barry Borsenik presented the council with a congratulatory achievement certificate from Supreme Patrick Kelly, celebrating their 100 years of service to the church and community. The Worthy State Secretary also expressed the State of Michigan's deep appreciation for the council Knights and their spouses, recognizing their century-long commitment.
It was a memorable and joyous occasion, filled with recognition, appreciation, and celebration of the Knights' dedication to their church and community.
