Quote from Jeanne Mancini, March for Life
As March for Life president Jeanne Mancini said about the Knights of Columbus’ participation, without the K of C “there would be no March for Life.” And no weather, no pandemic, no circumstance has stopped the Knights from taking a stand for life.

Michigan Knights of Columbus honored with Special Olympics Legacy Award
11/5/2021 - At Ford Field for the Special Olympics Michigan TIES & TENNIES Fundraising Gala, the Knights of Columbus were honored with the Legacy Award. This is the highest honor awarded by Special Olympics Michigan to a fraternal group for making a monumental impact in the lives of all Special Olympics Athletes while advancing the overall Mission of Special Olympics Michigan.
The K of C has a long history with Special Olympics, working alongside the movement since 1968. For over 50 years, Brother Knights have volunteered at Michigan events, cheering on the athletes as both fans and volunteers. Local councils have donated more than a million dollars to their community based Special Olympics programs, and have provided over $800k to guarantee the highest quality at the State-level Tournaments.
This was a black-tie optional event where guests wore tennis shoes in solidarity with the Special Olympic athletes.
On behalf of the Michigan State Council, State Secretary Christopher Kolomjec presented Special Olympics Michigan with a $20,000 donation. Joining him on-stage were State Chaplain Fr Paul Ballien, State Treasurer Barry Borsenik, State Advocate Charlie McCuen, and State Warden James Kraus.

Archbishop Lori in Rome

VATICAN CITY (CNS) ─ The incoming chairman of the U.S. bishops' Committee on Pro-Life Activities Archbishop William Lori hopes his brother bishops will approve a statement on the Eucharist that helps Catholics understand the gift that it is and that invites them back to active church life.
"I think it would be a beautiful thing if, in November, we were to close ranks and say, 'We are pastors. We love our people. We want to make this an inviting church and we want to gather people around the altar of the Lord,'" Archbishop William E. Lori of Baltimore told Catholic News Service.
In discussing and voting on a document on the Eucharist during their meeting Nov. 15-18, he said, the tone should be pastoral, "not compromising our teaching, not denying that it is possible to exclude oneself from the table of the Lord," but laying the foundation for the bishops' multiyear project of helping Catholics better understand, appreciate and celebrate the sacrament.
Some bishops want the statement to specifically address the question of Catholic politicians, such as President Joe Biden, who support legalized abortion or other laws at odds with church teaching.
Archbishop Lori, Supreme Chaplain of the Knights of Columbus was at the Vatican accompanying the new Supreme Knight Patrick Kelly of the Knights of Columbus for a visit in late October; Biden was scheduled to meet the pope Oct. 29.
