This week's beautiful Sunday readings teach us about (a) the importance of the Church's teaching authority, (b) what our heavenly home (the New Jerusalem) will be like, and (c) the gift of the Holy Spirit indwelling in each one of us, giving us guidance and peace. We'll explore each of these themes in today's Dad Talk:
On behalf of our Order, I extend profound gratitude to all councils that participated in this years’ Service Program Awards, Family of the Year recognition, and the prestigious Fr. Each participating council has demonstrated exceptional commitment to our four pillars: Charity, Unity, Fraternity, and Patriotism. Through your service programs, you've touched countless lives in our communities, supported families in need, and strengthened the Catholic faith.
The impact of your service programs—whether in Faith, Family, Community, or Life initiatives—extends far beyond the immediate benefits. You're creating lasting positive changes that honors our Order's mission.
Special recognition goes to the councils that submitted a chaplain for the State Blessed Michael McGivney Award. There were many submissions, and all were great candidates for the award, and it was very tough to choose just one winner. At the 2025 State Convention Awards Program, we recognized Fr. Christopher Jarvis from Council 9979. Fr. Jarvis’ faith and devotion to the Eucharist is a true testament to the Catholic Church.
To our Family of the Year nominees: you embody the sacred bonds of family life that our Order holds dear. Your examples inspire us all to strengthen our own family relationships and support families throughout our communities. At the 2025 State Convention Awards Program, we recognized the Mandziuk Family for the Family of the Year award.
All the entry books for Service Program of the Year, Family of the Year, and State Blessed Michael McGivney awards will be posted on the state website later this month.
Thank you for your tireless dedication to the principles of the Knights of Columbus. Your exemplary service makes our Order stronger and our communities better.
As we continue to build our faith and service, let’s not forget to extend an invitation to those brothers who are not yet a member of this great organization. Together we can grow and do great things!
