The Saginaw Diocesan Spelling Bee Level #1 (Grades 4,5,6); Level #2 (Grades 7,8,9) was held on Saturday February 10th in Merrill. The event was hosted by Fr. Robert F. Neuman Council #2291 at Merrill High School. The Spelling Bee had great competition between all youth and was enjoyed by all present.

Level #1:

L-R: Judges Val & Robert Kuehne from Council #414, Host DD #702 Richard Gilles, Saginaw Program Director East – Mark Hebert, Runner-Up - Reagen Shadley #8892, Winner - Nasaria Garcia #4232, Saginaw Program Director West – Jose Reyes, SDRR Ray Gehlmann, Merrill Schools Finance Director & Pronouncer - Kathy Nock.

We would like to deeply thank Kathy, Val & Robert for a very well-run Level #1 competition. The spellers were all tremendous going deep into the word list before a winner was crowned.
