Knight of the Month, October:  Fr. Bill Spencer.

Father Bill is the Chaplain of our council.  He gives us a good example of a priest who is ready to serve, particularly in the sacraments, despite his health/illness problems.

Family of the Month, October:  Greg & Sue Stout.

Greg is coordinator of scheduling for our Adoration Chapel, one of the cornerstones of our parish.  Sue, among other activities, serves regularly as a volunteer at Emmanuel House.

Council 13360 - District Deputy Dan Gibbons Newsletter Article - Nov 2018

Thanksgiving is a time when we can look at the things in our lives we are grateful for. My list includes my beautiful wife, my children, and of course Jesus and his church. We just celebrated All Saints and All Souls day, and I always look back and thank God for my Dad, grandparents, my mother and father in-law, and all who have passed away, but still touch my life.

It may sound strange, but another thing I'm thankful for is God's gift of free-will. I've not always made the best choices, but God has used the mistakes I've made to mold me into the man I've become. At each K of C event I attend, council/diocesan/state events, I see men who inspire me either by their goodness, but also by men who are struggling with bad choices. I learn from them all.

For this month, let's think of all the men in our lives, the good and the bad, and reflect on how to use our experiences to become better men...and how to help other men achieve the greatness they were created to be.

We owe each man in our parish the opportunity to grow in holiness through fraternity and service by joining the Knights of Columbus.

Vivat Jesus!
