New Dedicated Facebook Group Launched for Michigan KofC Local Events and Fundraisers

The Michigan Knights of Columbus is excited to announce the launch of a new dedicated Facebook Group created specifically for local council activities across the state.
The group, titled “Michigan Knights of Columbus | Local Council Events & Fundraisers,” has been established to give our more than 400 councils, assemblies, districts, Knights on Bikes chapters, committees, and other KofC groups a clear and organized place to promote their events and good works.
Why We Created This Group
With hundreds of councils active throughout Michigan, posting every local fundraiser, service project, and parish event on the main Michigan Knights of Columbus Facebook Page would quickly overwhelm followers’ feeds.
This new group allows local leaders to share their activities directly while giving members and supporters the choice of whether they want to see that level of local detail in their Facebook feed. The main Michigan KofC Page will continue to focus on state-level news, major initiatives, leadership messages, and high-level content, while this group serves as the central hub for grassroots activity.
What Can Be Posted
Local councils and groups are encouraged to use the new group to promote:
* Fundraising events and charitable drives
* Faith in Action program promotion.
* COR activities, retreats, rosaries, and young adult outreach
* Council-sponsored parish programs and events
* Service projects and community outreach
* Membership drives and exemplifications
* Knights on Bikes rides and related activities
* Hispanic Outreach activities
* Retreats, Rallys, and Religous Conferences sponsored by K of C organizations.
* District and Assembly events
* K of C sponsored parish activites
Who Can Use the Group
The group is open to all Michigan Knights of Columbus entities, including:
* Local Councils
* Assemblies
* Districts
* Knights on Bikes
* Committees and special programs
We ask that all posts follow the group rules (pinned at the top), clearly identify the council or group posting, and focus on official KofC-sponsored charitable, fraternal, or faith based activities.
Unlike the main Michigan K of C Facebook page where the State Council Social Media team creates each post and publishes it, in this new group, each person posting is responsible for creating and authoring the post, and the State Council will moderate and approve the post for publishing in this group.

Once you join, we encourage Grand Knights, District Deputies, Faithful Navigators, and committee chairs to begin sharing their upcoming events. The more councils that participate, the more valuable this resource becomes for Knights and families across Michigan.
This new group reflects our commitment to supporting the great work happening at the local level while being respectful of our members’ and followers’ time and attention.
We look forward to seeing the many ways our councils continue to serve their parishes and communities across the Great Lakes State.
