At the opening business session of the 141st Supreme Convention, Supreme Knight Patrick Kelly delivered his annual report. The Supreme Knight received a standing ovation in response to this declaration:

 

"Our religious liberty is under threat, and our deepest beliefs are being labeled as 'hate speech'. Let me be clear: There is nothing hateful about the sanctity of marriage, the reality of biological sex, or the humanity of the unborn child. And the Knights of Columbus will never apologize for defending the truth."
