Michigan Knights Celebrate Youth: Two Councils Honor Outstanding Young Catholics

Two Michigan Knights of Columbus Councils recently recognized young parishioners who are living their Catholic faith through academics, service, and positive example. These Student/Youth of the Month honors highlight the Order’s commitment to supporting the next generation of Catholic leaders.

Molly Williams – Paw Paw Council September Student of the Month

Council 3798 (Paw Paw) is proud to recognize Molly Williams, a 4th-grade student at St. Mary Catholic School, as its September Student of the Month. Molly was selected for her academic achievements, strong faith formation, and positive attitude in the classroom. She is a model of good Catholic values and visibly lives them every day. These values reflect greatly upon her family, St. Mary Catholic School, and the Knights of Columbus.

Pictured are Annika Otto, Principal of Saint Mary Catholic School; Molly Williams; and David Vana, Grand Knight of Council 3798. The recognition took place in the church sanctuary, underscoring the connection between faith, family, and the parish community.

Mary Ogilvy – Au Lac Council October Youth of the Month

Au Lac Council 10724 (Ira Township) congratulates Mary Ogilvy on being named its Youth of the Month for October. Mary is the daughter of Joseph and Melissa Ogilvy and a 7th-grade student at Algonac Jr/Sr High School, where she serves on the student council and plays on the volleyball team. She is active in her parish as a frequent altar server at weekend Mass and regularly volunteers at Parish Youth Group events and the Parish Festival.

The Council thanks Mary for sharing her faith through service to her parish and community. Au Lac Council began its Youth of the Month program in January 2023 to recognize students in grades 3–12 who demonstrate their Catholic faith through service. The program continues to highlight young people who are already putting Faith in Action.

Both recognitions show how local Councils partner with their parishes and schools to encourage youth, strengthen families, and build the future of the Church. The Knights of Columbus remain dedicated to programs that support Catholic education, youth leadership, and parish life across Michigan.

Vivat Jesus!
