The common thread in this Sunday's second and Gospel readings is that we cannot have worship without sacrifice. Indeed, when we choose to follow Christ, suffering will inevitably follow, as illustrated by Jeremiah in this Sunday's first reading. But when we fasten ourselves to the cross, God uses our suffering to help mold and shape us for eternal life. That will be our focus in this week's Dad Talk.
