We asked, and you delivered. Thank you to everyone who generously supported the Neighborhood Ministry, especially the Backpack Ministry at St. Aloysius in Detroit, during the collection held at the Summer Organizational Meeting. We collected more than 15 boxes of travel-size toiletries, which will be distributed by the volunteers at St. Aloysius. Your simple act of kindness has touched more lives than you may ever know.

We would also like to thank our new Archdiocesan Chaplain, Fr. Salvatore Palazzolo, for the faith-filled tour of St. Aloysius. We were blessed to learn about the church’s history and architecture, and while there, we prayed a beautiful rosary together. Christy Miron, the wife of our State Secretary Vern, played the pipe organ, and Karen Winkle, the wife of our Vice Supreme Master Walter, shared her beautiful voice by singing Ave Maria. Fr. Sal then blessed Charles and Jessica McCuen IV, the Diocesan Cor Director in Lansing and son of State Deputy Charles McCuen III, on their 5th wedding anniversary. We were truly blessed.

Looking ahead to the Winter Organizational Meeting, we will be collecting athletic socks for both adults and children. The socks will be divided evenly among the dioceses at the Winter Meeting and then distributed to shelters and pregnancy centers, helping us “warm their feet as we warm their hearts.” Please watch for more information and additional details from your diocesan program directors.
