Detroit Council 305 is the original Michigan Council at 125 years young. I was told by current Grand Knight Andrew Assenmacher Sr., Council membership was once over 10,000 members.

Memorabilia in the Council chamber included a picture of over 100 Knights after receiving their 1st Degree in 1925 and a Telephone Directory from 1923 that listed at least 2 of my uncles. It was very special moment for me to see their names listed!

Au Lac Council builds a wheelchair ramp for local young man

By: Ken Warzybok - Tue, Oct 24, 2023 7:05 AM

We do a lot of good things as Knights, but the most rewarding ones are when we extend a helping hand to those in need.

On October 23rd, the Brother Knights of Au Lac Council 10724 built a handicap ramp for a developmentally challenged young man. His mother was unable to continue carrying him up and down the stairs of their home. These Brother Knights dedicated several hours to building the much-needed ramp for his wheelchair.

Thank you Brothers for exemplifying the true essence of being a Knight.

Your selfless actions serve as an inspiration to us all!

Council 6824 has a Blessing of the Woodlot

By: District Deputy 113 - Tue, Oct 17, 2023 3:04 PM

Father George Ging Council #6824 is dedicated to serving St. Anne Catholic Church in Ortonville, MI where Father Yongli (John) Chen, is assigned. One of the ways the council raises funds for charity is through a year-long wood-cutting program. It's a great way to give back to the community while also enjoying the great outdoors.

On the morning of October 14th, Father John blessed the woodlot with a moving ceremony, and then blessed the equipment and structures with Holy Water. It was a beautiful experience. A special thank you to Father John and all the Brother Knights who work tirelessly at the woodlot. Your dedication is truly inspiring.

Father John is an active member of Council 6824 and recently became a 4th Degree Sir Knight!
