THANK YOU
for a
Successful Blanket Drive!
In the fall of 2009, St. Vincent Catholic Charities (STVCC) put out a request for blankets to go directly to those we serve. We had an incredible response from the Catholic Community. Many parishioners, priests and parish employees donated new and gently used blankets. Thank you for your generosity!
We would like to also say a special thank you to the Knights of Columbus and the Catholic Schools. The children, teachers and school administration across our diocese schools collected blankets and donated 265!
The Knights of Columbus, under the direction of Bob Moody, State Deputy, and through the tireless efforts of John Thelen, State Community Director, the Knights of Columbus donated 1,287 blankets, 83 twin sheet sets and 127 pillows! Most of the items donated were new.
STVCC hoped to collect 1,000 blankets to help keep those we serve warm. Because of the generosity and efforts of those who donated, we collected close to 2,000 blankets over the 2009 fall and 2010 winter seasons. Each of the blankets go directly to the homeless, refugees, children living at STVCC Children’s Home and children living in foster care, served by STVCC. They provide warmth, comfort and a reminder that others do care for them.
It is an incredible feeling to be part of a community with a beautiful spirit of service to others! On behalf of the staff and those served through St. Vincent Catholic Charities .…
